Skype Share Screen

There are lots of application that allow users to make voice and video calls, chat, and screen sharing with the help of the internet and Skype is one of the most popular tools in doing it. The founders of this Skype Share Screen, Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis turned out to also be the founders of the file sharing application named Kazaa. Using Skype is free of charge especially when you do screen sharing, and setting up the application is simple and applicable on Mac and Windows.

To enjoy Skype Screen Sharing, have Skype be installed first on your computer for you to experience Skype services. If you don’t have the application, you may download it from their website for you get their latest version. The version can also be updated if you tend to have their older version. Second is to click your contacts’ names you wish to get connected with and click on “call” or “video call”. Next is to do the screen sharing during the call, where you bring your cursor on the main window for you to have the Skype menu and click the screen sharing icon to get the screen sharing options. Take note that the icon may look different depending on the type of operating system installed on your computer.

There are also several options for you to choose from on how you want your screen to be shared. Options are as follows: Show your current display/show entire screen, and Share screen where your entire screen will be shown, and closes other applications what you don’t want others to see. You may also select windows which you want to share, by opening the window that you choose. This starts by highlighting with blue and click on “Show selected window” so that you may able to start sharing.

Since you are using the Skype screen sharing, the person whom you communicate with or won’t be able to see you on video but you can still continue talking with them by navigating on your screen. If you are using the video call, you can still see them on your screen. For you to stop screen-sharing, click on “Stop Sharing” for Windows and “Stop Screen Sharing” for Mac, but it doesn’t end your call so you may still continue your video or voice call with the person you are calling. For further information, you may share your screen to several people but not in one time sharing, you can only do it to one person at a time because screen sharing doesn’t work on group calls and there’s no worry if you do screen sharing with people who is using different operating system from what you use to have. It doesn’t matter at all.
